Rooted in Tradition, Inspired by Nature

Welcome to Weingut Alt — where heritage meets taste. This is our story, shaped by time, tradition, and the land itself. We invite you to discover it in every glass of our Austrian wines.

At Weingut Alt, winemaking is not just a tradition — it’s a story passed down through generations. Nestled in the gentle hills of Austria’s Weinviertel, we craft Austrian wines that reflect the land, the climate, and the deep care behind every vine. Since 1865, our family has nurtured these vineyards with respect for nature, practicing sustainable cultivation and selective hand-harvesting. Each grape is a link in a legacy — shaped by time, soil, and craftsmanship. From pruning in spring to bottling in the cellar, every step is done with purpose, ensuring that what ends up in your glass is pure, expressive, and unmistakably ours.

Our story begins with a deep respect for nature and a passion for crafting authentic, expressive Austrian wines. Since our founding, we’ve blended time-honored winemaking techniques with a forward-thinking approach — honoring tradition while embracing innovation. As a result, every step we take, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and a wine that speaks of its origin.

Each grapevine tells a story of patience, care, and deep connection to the land. From our crisp Grüner Veltliner to our bold Cabernet Franc, every bottle of Austrian wine from Weingut Alt reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and honesty. Because we believe that truly great wine begins in the vineyard, we focus on careful cultivation and minimal intervention — allowing the unique character of each vintage to shine through

We believe that truly great Austrian wine is made in the vineyard — which is why we work in close harmony with nature, respecting its rhythm and its gifts. Through careful observation and sustainable farming, we nurture each vine by hand. As a result, every grape is picked at its peak, ensuring purity, balance, and a final wine that reflects both the land and the season.
